 The Human Advantage

Abstract

We're more powerful than you think, intrepid reader.

Body

I came across a post[1] today that touched on AI and what that means
for creators. In many conversations I've had with friends worried
about this new landscape, I've been emphatic in my belief that no
matter how capable AI gets, it'll never replace human ingenuity and
creativity. I say this as an avid user of LLMs (I'm not a fan of the
 "creative" variants like generative AI).

The way to differentiate yourself from "AI" (Assumed Intelligence)
and make yourself stand out, period, is to just be you. Be original.
Be imaginative. AI will never beat human expression and the lazy
humans who will use AI to generate ~~art~~ shit will **never**
 be interesting.

Imagine, if you will, the reductive example of a hammer taking over a
carpenter's job. Ridiculous! We have 3D printed houses now but the
three houses that we built/renovated around the corner from my home
have had real people working on them for the past year. Technology
evolves, roles get adjusted, and that carpenter is advising startups
that the fancy vacuum seal process they created still needs nails for
security and peace of mind. Maybe, idk, I'm not in that field.

Despite the job market (terrible), cost of living (too damn HIGH),
and our governments (you kidding me?!), I believe we're entering into
a time of renaissance...hmm, Resistance Renaissance?

You should write that novel you've had in mind for the past 20 years
and publish on books.by[2]. Release that music and put it on
Subvert[3] and Bandcamp[4]. The world is yours, you don't need
permission but in case you do; go ahead. Do it![5] 🕸️
